Dr Matt Creed

Senior Registrar in Anaesthetics & PHEM

Tier 1 Solo Responder

MEDSERVE Treasurer

Dr Matt Creed is a senior registrar in Anaesthetics and Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine with specific interests in resuscitation and trauma, acting as a tier 1 solo responder in South East Wales. He is the current Treasurer for MEDSERVE Wales, whilst also holding the same role for the Pre-Hospital Trainee Operated Research Network (PHOTON) group. He has been involved in Pre-hospital medicine since 2009 and associated with BASICs (British Association of Immediate Care) since 2012. His interest in Pre-hospital Care developed through military service and interest in acute care and resuscitation. He holds the Fellowship in Immediate Medical Care (FIMC) as well as the Diploma in the Medical Care of Catastrophes (DMCC). Dr Creed’s involvement in MEDSERVE Wales has stemmed from his belief that patients deserve access to high quality medical care delivered by experienced, well trained and appropriately qualified and accredited practitioners. In situations when statutory response is unable to deliver the level of care required, enhanced care from a MEDSERVE responder can be the intervention that helps save life and prevent disability. Through his experience, it is clear that MEDSERVE saves lives. When asked about key lessons he has learnt during his time in Pre-hospital practice, Dr Creed commented: “PHEM is very much a team sport. The greatest strength of any MEDSERVE responder is their ability to draw together and integrate into a team, those professionals present at a pre-hospital incident to deliver safe and effective care.’
